Summary

Tipzy is built to be played without an account. We do not ask for your name, your email or your phone number. We do not run advertising trackers. Your location is used live to detect when you arrive at a checkpoint and is never stored on our servers.

What we store

  • An anonymous identifier generated on first launch (a random string — not linked to any personal identity).
  • Your chosen nickname and avatar.
  • Your trip / event progress: which checkpoints you've reached, your answers and your score.
  • The fact that you accepted the current Terms of Use, with a timestamp.
  • Crash reports (Sentry) used to fix bugs — no IP address and no device fingerprint sent to advertisers.

What we do not store

  • Your real name, email address or phone number — we never ask for them.
  • Your coarse or precise location. The phone's location is read live while you play to compute distance to the next checkpoint and is discarded immediately.
  • Any data for advertising or third-party tracking.

Where the data lives

We use Google Firebase (Firestore) to store the anonymous data above, and Sentry for crash reports. These providers process data only on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments.

Your rights and deletion

Because Tipzy is anonymous, we cannot identify your data from your real-world identity. To request deletion, email go@tipzy.me from a contact channel we can use to verify ownership of the anonymous identifier (for example, by sharing it from inside the app). We will erase the associated nickname, avatar and trip records.

Children

Tipzy is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, there is nothing child-specific to delete — but if you believe a child's nickname or answers should be removed, email us.
